NATIONS LEAGUE "Dragons" tonight in Renaissance Florence against Italy

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The national football team of Bosnia and Herzegovina will start the new edition of the UEFA Nations League from the city of the Renaissance, Florence, Italy, where they will be hosted by Italy. 

From 8:45 PM, the football "Dragons" will play against a strong favorite and seek victory in their premiere appearance in Group A of the Nations League. 

“First of all, I want us all to be healthy, because this corona situation has disrupted all of us,” said the coach of the BiH national team, Dušan Bajević, before the match, and continued: "We have met Italy twice in a short period and we know they are an extremely good team. I think everyone is motivated to play against such a national team, and my wish is to play a good game. Both we and they are in the same situation, maybe they are a little closer to victory, but we will also do everything we can and try to surprise them.”

One of the questions was who poses the greatest danger, to which the coach replied: “There are many good players, we respect everyone, but on this occasion I would not single anyone out, especially since there are some individuals who have been at the top for many years.”

Our captain Edin Džeko was, as always, met with special attention by the journalists. He only answered questions related to the match and our team.

Comparing the two duels against Italy, the one in Turin with the one in Zenica, Džeko said: "I hope this match will be more similar to the one in Turin. However, there are big differences, back then we were all in excellent form, the season was ongoing, so we were 100% ready. This is certainly not the best moment for such a match, especially since we are playing without Pjanić. There is also no audience, so all of that will affect the entire atmosphere. Of course, I would like us to be complete, to play in front of fans, because it is always an honor to play against the Italian national team.”

Regardless of friendships with certain opposing players, Džeko emphasized that they are friends off the field, but on the field, everyone will fight for their team.

Journalists were also interested in the differences between Prosinečki and Bajević, to which Džeko replied: „Bajević has brought great experience to our team, which can help us all. These two matches will be useful for the coach to get to know us better and for us to get used to his demands so that we are as prepared as possible for the important playoff match with Northern Ireland.“

Journalists were interested if Džeko remembers Bajević as a player, to which the captain replied: „I was born much later, so I couldn't see his games, but my father told me a lot about him.”
