(Patria) - The Federal Civil Protection Headquarters yesterday adopted amendments to the order regarding the movement of persons under 18 and over 65 years of age. Given that pension payments begin next week in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, those over 65 will be allowed to leave their homes at a precisely defined time and on precisely defined days to collect their pensions.
This decision has met with public approval, but experts are seriously concerned.
Epidemiologist Željko Ler points out to Patria that as a professional, but also as a conscientious citizen, he must say that the new measures of the Crisis Headquarters of the FUCZ, which liberalise the movement regime, are catastrophic!
„Instead of the advocated quarantine, they gave in to public pressure and threw the doors wide open to extensive and intensive epidemic flow! The possibility of uncontrolled spread of the virus in conditions of increased social contact has been opened, and everything that has been done so far, which has proven successful, could go down the drain!
The Crisis Headquarters of the FUCZ must urgently reconsider its decision and reverse it in terms of returning to the previous regime of restricted movement (at the very least), because the elderly population will suffer“, said Ler, adding that there is no time to wait.
From the Headquarters, they stated that they have allowed persons over 65 years of age to collect their pensions next week, but they call on fellow citizens to adhere to personal protection measures and not to go out for the next five days from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM when movement is allowed for pensioners.
