(Patria) - The Vice President of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Refik Lendo, today, on the occasion of April 15th, the Day of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, hosted a reception for representatives of veterans' organizations, associations that preserve the achievements of the defense-liberation war, generals, and representatives of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The reception highlighted the significance of celebrating the Day of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, preserving the culture of remembrance, and the need for continuous institutional support for veterans' organizations and associations.
The focus of the discussions was also on the role of these organizations and institutions in conveying the truth about the defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina to younger generations, as well as strengthening social awareness of the values on which the state was defended.
- April 15th is not just a date. It is a symbol of resistance, organization, and determination to defend the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina defended the state and preserved its sovereignty, territorial integrity, and existence.
The achievements of that struggle, the freedom, independence, and statehood of Bosnia and Herzegovina are our lasting obligation. It is our duty to preserve them, and the truth about the defense of the state must never be relativized - Lendo stated.
In this context, the need for more decisive action by institutions in preserving stability and security was emphasized, as well as the continuation of Bosnia and Herzegovina's European and NATO path as a strategic commitment of the state.
- Only an economically strong state can be stable and secure. The strength of a state is measured by its ability to develop, but also to defend itself. As strong and united as we are, so are we respected - Lendo emphasized.
At the end of the reception, it was stated that the protection of statehood, strengthening of institutions, and unity on key issues remain a priority, and that a responsible and decisive institutional response will be crucial for preserving the stability and future of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
