(Patria) - The central ceremony of the Islamic Community's Reis-ul-ulema in Bosnia and Herzegovina, marking Laylat al-Qadr, the 27th night of Ramadan, will be held at the Gazi Husrev-beg Mosque on Monday, March 16, 2026, starting at 7:15 PM.
The introductory address will be delivered by the Director of the Religious Affairs Directorate of the Reis-ul-ulema, Dr. hfz. Mensur-ef. Malkić, and the program includes an address to the gathered believers by the Reis-ul-ulema of the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Husein-ef. Kavazović.
The program will be performed by renowned Bosnian and Herzegovinian reciters of the Quran, ilahija, and qasidah, with the participation of Sheikh Muhammed Sulejman Bisjuni from Egypt.
The Laylat al-Qadr supplication will be recited by Dr. hfz. Mensur Malkić.
Laylat al-Qadr is the most distinguished night of the year for Muslims, as it was the night when the revelation of the Quran, the final divine message and guidance for humanity, began.
In the Quranic chapter Al-Qadr, which is dedicated to this very night, it is stated that it is more valuable than 1,000 months. Traditions passed down from the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) indicate that it should be sought on the odd-numbered nights of the last third of Ramadan. Scholars are of the opinion that it is most likely the 27th night.
This blessed night will be observed in all mosques of the Islamic Community in BiH and the diaspora with special programs.
The program from the Gazi Husrev-beg Mosque will be broadcast live on RTV BIR and BHT1, and other television channels that will take the BHT1 signal.
