Lejla Njemčević the only representative of BiH at the World Championship in Scotland

(Patria) - The best Bosnian-Herzegovinian and currently the world's number one cyclist on the UCI marathon ranking list will compete at the World Championship in Scotland on Sunday.

At the largest world championship organized so far, which will also be one of the biggest sporting events, all cycling disciplines will be held for the first time with a total of 219 competitions, expecting more than 8,000 athletes from all over the world to participate.

At the World Championship in Glasgow, the only representative of Bosnia and Herzegovina will be Lejla Njemčević, who is considered one of the favorites in the marathon discipline.

The World Marathon Championship will be held near Edinburgh on a 96-kilometer course with 3,200 meters of elevation gain.

Competitors can expect an extremely demanding course, given that it has been raining constantly for several days, and rainy weather with low temperatures is expected on the day of the race.

- I have a great deal of confidence before the most important race of the season, and we are especially pleased that the preparations went according to the training plan.

I did a training session on the course last week, and the conditions are certainly in my favor, considering that I have achieved my best results on muddy courses throughout my career.

Expectations are always high, but I am ready to show my maximum on the day of the race - said Lejla Njemčević.
