Lagumdžija encouraged by the announcement of a new EU approach

Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina Zlatko Lagumdžija spoke in Sarajevo with ambassadors of the member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in BiH.

The topics of the meeting were current events in our country with a special focus on citizens' protests and the European Union's new approach to countries included in the enlargement process, and the possibilities for deepening cooperation between Bosnia and Herzegovina and OIC member states.

The meeting was attended by the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Eid Mohammed A. Althakafi, Ambassador of the State of Palestine Khaled Alattrash, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Syed Khalid Amir Jaffery, Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey Ahmet Yildiz, Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia Subijaksono Sujono, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran Seyed Hossein Rajabi, Ambassador of the State of Kuwait Nasser Riden Thamer Almotairi, Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt Yasser Sayed Mahmoud Elatawi, Ambassador of Libya Arebi S. A. Halloudi, Chargé d'affaires of the Embassy of the State of Qatar Jassim Al-Hamadi, Minister-Counselor at the Embassy of Malaysia Mohamed Hussain Abu Bakar, and representative of the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan Yusif Vazirov.

Lagumdžija assessed that the citizens' dissatisfaction is justified, and that politicians, more than ever, need to carefully listen to what citizens are telling them and act within the institutions of BiH at all levels to resolve their demands.

He expressed hope that political parties will implement the justified demands of citizens as soon as possible by adopting the necessary laws and measures. Lagumdžija emphasized that he is encouraged by the announcement of the European Union's new approach to countries included in the enlargement process, which will be reflected in key economic and social reforms.
