Kylian Mbappé signs for Real Madrid

(Patria) - Kylian Mbappé (25) will be a Real Madrid player from July 1st - he has already signed a contract with the La Liga giant that will be valid until the summer of 2029.

This is exclusive information from Madrid's Marca, the most widely circulated Spanish newspaper.

"The club and the player have finally fulfilled mutual desires and met their destinies, finally leaving behind the winding paths of negotiations that began back in 2017," reported Marca, a newspaper that has had the best connections in the Madrid giant for decades.

As stated, at the beginning of January, when the striker, considered by many to be the best in the world today, entered the last six months of his contract with Paris Saint Germain, Real representatives officially contacted Mbappé's agents.

The first contact was about whether the verbal agreement made in May last year was still valid. After a positive response, salary negotiations followed.

Real clearly told the Frenchman that they did not want to postpone detailed negotiations, and the key disagreement was regarding the money from marketing rights related to Mbappé's image.

Here, the leaders of the "Royals" managed to somewhat reduce the demands of the player's agents.

The Marca journalist did not want to disclose information about the specific salary - but it is emphasized that Mbappé will be the highest-paid player in the club, in line with the reputation of a player many consider to be the best on the planet right now.

However, it is also stated that his salary will not be drastically higher than that of other biggest stars. The base figure will be around 20 million euros net per year, excluding bonuses.

In the last two seasons in the French championship, Mbappé earned 32 million euros net per season.

There is also speculation about a transfer bonus that the player and his agents will receive this summer before signing the contract.

Reportedly, it is about a figure of around 50 million euros, which is drastically and three times less than what Mbappé's agents originally asked for.

All contract details, as stated, were agreed upon two weeks ago.

Mbappé is playing at a top level this season as well - in 31 appearances for the club in all competitions, he has scored 32 goals.
