Kurban-bajram celebrated across BiH: Thousands of worshippers performed Bayram prayer at Gazi Husrev-beg Mosque

(Patria) - Muslims around the world are celebrating Kurban-bajram today, one of the two greatest Islamic holidays, which lasts for four days.

A large number of worshippers performed the Bayram prayer this morning at the Gazi Husrev-beg Mosque in Sarajevo, where the central Bayram ceremony of the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina was also held.

The Bayram prayer and sermon were led by the Rais al-Ulama Husein-ef. Kavazović.

The dawn prayer was performed at 4:30 AM, after which a festive program was held with the recitation of the Quran, ilahijas, and qasidas.

Upon completion of the Bayram prayer, worshippers proceeded to the traditional ritual of sacrificing the kurban, which symbolizes sacrifice, solidarity, and care for others.
