Kulenović: Attacks on BiH are not incidents, 'red lines' were crossed long ago, we need united resistance of state-building forces

(Patria) - A regular Sunday session of the Association of Independent Intellectuals Krug 99 was held in Sarajevo today on the topic "The Necessity of United Resistance to State Destroyers".

The introductory speaker at the session was legal expert Enver Išerić, and before him, the president of Krug 99, Adil Kulenović, addressed the attendees.

- Unfortunately, the very emphasis on the necessity of resistance expresses the extreme degree of concern and caution in a phase of increasingly strong and open political challenges to the sovereignty, constitutional order, institutional integrity, and democratic future of European BiH.

These processes are not incidental, nor are they exclusively a product of daily politics; they represent a continuity of action aimed at weakening and collapsing the state as a common nation of all its citizens - states Kulenović.

He assessed yesterday's gathering of the right-wing elite in Zagreb not as an isolated case of political marginals, but as the latest expression of the consolidation of transatlantic aggressive intentions to destroy European liberal democracy, established democratic state orders, and international relations that have ensured peace and prosperity for almost 80 years, not only in Europe.

- We must not lose sight of this context and, like geese in the fog, seek support in the shoals of secondary media sensationalism, such as - who paid for the organization of the gathering and the like.

Just as the sleepy political structures quickly accepted the narrative of Trump's son's arrival in Banja Luka or the US envoy's visit to Gradina as a transparent result of lobbyist manipulators without political agendas.

Because, Bosnia and Herzegovina was again in the focus of political cartography and ideas that are neither new nor the newest. Nor, unfortunately, are they authentic, but rather reflect the realpolitik positions of dominant political forces and the overall strategies of the Republic of Croatia towards BiH. And not only hers.

And cartographies in Bosnia have always been stained with blood. Even salon ones, whether they are in purger self-satisfaction and unfounded arrogance. With such a veneer, friendly trust is not built, but the opposite. Nor are solutions with false parallels to Belgium - says Kulenović.

He notes that in such regional foreign policy circumstances, the need for united resistance of state-building forces is not a mere political option, but a necessity.

- I emphasize, united resistance. Not as mere reactions, but as an expression of Bosnian state-building, national dignity.

Especially since we have long since identified the "state destroyers" as those political, institutional, and non-institutional actors who question the sovereignty and territorial integrity of BiH, and deny the competencies and authority of state institutions.

They block or paralyze decision-making at the state level, act to establish parallel political-legal structures, produce legal uncertainty and institutional dysfunctionality, and ultimately lead to a security crisis. Regardless of which political shirt they wrap themselves in - stated Kulenović.

He emphasizes that united resistance must be based on the principles of establishing a minimum state consensus among political, cultural, academic, media, and civil society actors who see their future in a modern democratic state of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

- This minimum does not imply ideological homogenization, but strategic, state-building alignment. The goal is a unified and timely response to every form of institutional, security, and any other destabilization of the state of BiH.

United resistance in Bosnian circumstances is not an expression of political homogeneity, but of political maturity. It requires a clear understanding that the state is not the property of any political option, but a common framework within which political and social life takes place.

Differences in political views must not be an obstacle to joint action in protecting that without which these differences would not have a space to exist. In this sense, united resistance is not the end of political pluralism - it is its condition.

If we remain at the verbal level of principles, nothing will change. In Bosnian circumstances, the transition from declaration to operation is crucial - that is, what specifically to do tomorrow, next month, and next year - underlines Kulenović.

According to him, elections must not be an obstacle, nor party manipulation, but a time for strategic decisions and political mobilization.

- That is why Krug 99 is initiating a gathering to draft an Agreement on a minimum of joint action, regardless of pre-election tensions. Especially since such an agreement should not interfere with programmatic, ideological, and political differences, but focus on establishing an operational framework for cooperation on issues of fundamental importance for the state.

We do not need any simulations of "red lines." They were drawn and crossed long ago, and there is no prospect of them disappearing, nor of disappearing with moralistic appeals. What is missing is a coordinated and united strategic response for which no one individually has sufficient capacity.

Strategic unification is not a weakness but an expression of courage and additional strength that relies on, stems from, and reflects the aspirations and expectations of the majority of citizens of this country - concluded Kulenović.
