Kukić: Negotiations with Čović about the fate of Aluminij represent a collapse of state institutions

(Patria) - The agreement between HDZ president Dragan Čović and the Aluminij trade union, in which he promises workers that everything at Aluminij will be as it was before, that all of them - or most of them - will work again, and that funds will be secured for those who meet the conditions for retirement, confirms the thesis that Bosnia and Herzegovina has no state institutions, but that they are concentrated in the hands of ethnonational political parties.

This view was expressed in an interview with the Patria agency by Professor Slavo Kukić, commenting on the collapse of the Aluminij plant in Mostar, which could leave around 900 workers of the factory without jobs.

"The fact that dissatisfied workers go to the headquarters of a political party, instead of seeking help from state institutions, supports the thesis that we do not have a state, but rather centers of political power, where ethnic bullies reside, which serve as a substitute for the state institutions that exist throughout the rest of the world," assessed Professor Kukić.

Earlier this week, Aluminij was disconnected from the high-voltage power grid due to millions in debt for electricity. Hundreds of workers gathered yesterday in front of the HDZ building in Mostar, accusing the party's president, Dragan Čović, of betrayal, while inside the HDZ headquarters, the company's management and the trade union negotiated with Čović about the future of Aluminij.

The HDZ announced that the Mostar factory will not go into bankruptcy until all possibilities for restarting production, or part of it, are examined.
