(Patria) - Several people were killed on Friday evening when a man randomly stabbed passersby at a festival in the city of Solingen in western Germany, reported the newspaper Bild.
Bild reported that the incident occurred around 21:45 and that at least three people died, with several others injured.
Witnesses stated that the perpetrator is on the run, the newspaper adds.
The local newspaper Solinger Tageblatt reported on its website that the attack took place at a festival celebrating the 650th anniversary of the city.
Local police said they could not yet comment on the event.
