Krnjić not budging until RS debt to FBiH is resolved: No agreement on opening new Gradiška border crossing

(Patria) - The Steering Board of the Indirect Taxation Authority of BiH today again failed to make a decision allowing the opening of a new border crossing in Gradiška, said the Chairman of the ITA Steering Board Srđan Amidžić, after the session was held.

He stated that the amendments to the Rulebook on Internal Organization in the ITA were not adopted.

"The decision was blocked by a member of the Steering Board from the expert group appointed by the Government of the Federation of BiH, Zijad Krnjić. Unfortunately, for the fifth time, we tried to see if there is any common sense in BiH, but there isn't. The absurdity of BiH. Everyone voted for the opening of the crossing in Gradiška except Zijad Krnjić. It seems easier to stop five million passengers at the border than to make one person vote for the opening of the crossing," Amidžić pointed out.

Krnjić stated that Amidžić's qualifications are not accurate, but that there is a series of unresolved issues within the scope of the ITA Steering Board.

"We convened a session four months after the previous one, and according to the Rules of Procedure, we should have a session once a month. A very large number of extremely important decisions are pending. Republika Srpska, according to the calculation for 2025, owes the FBiH 151 million and 859 thousand marks, and that is based on coefficients for the second quarter, and that has crossed all limits. We are not even adopting the excise law, the Rulebook on VAT refund for the first property is on hold. I am interested in the functioning of the Steering Board from the perspective of indirect taxation, and that is a significant part of the problem. I am requesting certain data on the traffic at the Gradiška border crossing, once I receive it, we will resolve everything," Krnjić stated.

Krnjić has been insisting for months that the issue of coefficients be resolved, given that the FBiH entity is being harmed, which was previously confirmed by the Minister of Finance Toni Kraljević, who did not want to vote on the distribution of funds from road tolls, which are in a special account and remain undistributed to this day because the FBiH entity is also harmed in that ratio.
