The use of winter equipment for cars in BiH ceases to be valid after April 15, having been in effect since November 15, writes the BiH news agency Patria.
Winter tires on all four wheels were mandatory for passenger and other motor vehicles with no more than eight seats and a maximum permissible mass not exceeding three and a half tons.
Vehicles could also have tires with summer tread if the minimum tread depth was four millimeters, but drivers had to have appropriate chains in their vehicle for mounting on the drive wheels.
The fine for not using winter equipment is 40 KM, and for causing a traffic accident due to inappropriate vehicle equipment, the fines range from 50 to 200 KM.
