Basketball: BiH defeats Czech Republic with a comeback in the second half

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Bosnia and Herzegovina opened the World Cup qualifiers with a victory against the Czech Republic. In a game full of comebacks, BiH won with a score of 97:90.

The Czech Republic had a better start to the match and literally hit from all positions in the first quarter. Thanks to that, the Czechs went into halftime with a 12-point lead (44:46). In the second half, BiH played better and made a great comeback in the third quarter, when they took the lead for the first time.

Džanan Musa played a great role in that period and was the architect of the comeback. Alongside him, Gegić and Robertson also stepped up, which was more than enough for BiH to maintain its lead with aggressive play from the entire team.

The team coached by Vedran Bosnić will play their next match on November 29 in Bulgaria.

Coach Vedran Bosnić did not hide his satisfaction after the triumph.

"We didn't start well. The reason for that is that we don't have the experience of playing at home in front of an audience. This team has a big heart, but we burned out with eagerness in the first half. We didn't do anything right in the first half," said Bosnić and continued:

"Offensively we weren't bad, but we didn't do anything defensively. We had a good talk at halftime and entered the second half with much more aggression and turned the game in our favor. We showed character and won. I am happy for the guys and they needed this experience. We are a team and we do everything as a team. The team plays as one, it was difficult for them to integrate with Musa, but they all helped him to make it as easy as possible for him. I don't remember when we last scored 97 points. If we didn't win because of defense, I'm glad we won offensively."

"It's not an excuse, but we didn't have the experience of having an audience. This is an experience for us and everyone wants to show as much as possible. We burned out. The opponent gets going and it's very difficult to play. Excellent reaction, we talked about some things and everything turned out well. We showed that we have 'it'. I am very happy.
