
(Patria) - Police have arrested an individual with initials D. B. B. (1994) on suspicion of involvement in setting fire to an official passenger vehicle of the City of Mostar, which was torched on November 26, 2025. The case was solved by police officers of the Mostar Police Department, Criminal Police Division, under the supervision of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office Mostar, as announced by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Herzegovina-Neretva Canton.
Hercegovina.info unofficially learns that the individual is Danijel Bartulović, a muay thai fighter and former firefighter.
According to the police, in a coordinated action by the Mostar Police Department and the Mostar – Centar Police Station, the suspect was arrested, and a search of his residential and auxiliary premises, as well as his vehicle, was carried out under the prosecutor's order. Items that investigators believe may serve as evidence have been seized.
A report will be filed against the suspect to the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office Mostar due to the existence of grounds for suspicion of the criminal offense of Causing General Danger under Article 323 of the Criminal Code of FBiH, in conjunction with the criminal offense of Damaging Another's Property under Article 293.
As Hercegovina.info learns, the individual with initials D. B. B. is publicly known as a fighter from Mostar in muay thai. According to previous reports, he participated in major international muay-thai events and attended conferences and receptions with leading political officials.
In June 2022, the President of HDZ BiH and Dragan Čović received a delegation from the Muay Thai Club "Ludvig Pavlović" at the HDZ BiH House, which included coaches and the arrested fighter. The discussion focused on a sports spectacle for the European muay-thai title.
Additionally, prior to a major international match in Mostar, he also met with Mayor Mario Kordić, along with a club delegation and organizers. The Mayor at the time expressed support for the athletes and stated that he was proud that Mostar was organizing such a sporting event.
At this moment, there is no official information regarding the motive, nor about possible connections outside the criminal proceedings that are the subject of the investigation. The Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Prosecutor's Office have not provided further details.
The City of Mostar and Mayor Kordić have not yet publicly reacted to the arrest.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Herzegovina-Neretva Canton stated that the police "will continue to undertake all legally prescribed measures to protect citizens and their property, emphasizing the professionalism and efficiency of police officers in the interest of community safety".
