Kordić tells anti-fascists they are not welcome, Kajan opens his eyes that half of Mostar does not recognize him as the so-called mayor

(Patria) - Anti-fascists are definitely no longer welcome in the city on the Neretva, at least if the attitude of the Mayor of Mostar, Mario Kordić, a cadre of the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) BiH, is anything to go by.

"We are building a Mostar focused on the future and let's stop glorifying criminal ideologies," Kordić began his Facebook post this morning, which referred to yesterday's commemoration of the 79th anniversary of the liberation of Mostar from fascism in World War II, attended by several hundred anti-fascists from all over BiH and the region.

"I believe that every resident of Mostar, thinking about the future of their environment, thinks about a more pleasant environment, secure jobs, economic development, built parks, and everything that makes life better.

On the other hand, year after year, a group of people presents themselves as anti-fascists, carrying symbols of one of the most heinous totalitarian regimes.

Perhaps this year's play, performed by the same actors for years, would have gone unnoticed, but it is impossible to ignore the context in which a group of young people, our children, walk through the city center in costumes symbolizing the future, development, while at the same time, false moralizers are falsifying history and trying to sow unrest in our society with messages of division.

I strongly condemn such public discourse, which does not belong to the civilized and democratic society to which the people of Mostar belong. I am deeply convinced that we have matured enough as a society to unmask false representations and sowers of hatred and division.

I thank the Ministry of Internal Affairs of HNK for the adequate supervision and management of the gathering in the city center yesterday.

The city I represent as mayor supports and will continue to support all freedoms, implement reforms, and look to the future with the sincere intention of creating a more pleasant living environment for everyone," Kordić stated.

We sought a reaction to such a chauvinistic outburst from the first man of Mostar from the Democratic Front (DF) representative in the FBiH Parliament, Sanel Kajan, also a native of Mostar.

"I appreciate that journalists contact me, even today, about the nonsensical statements of the so-called mayor of Mostar, related to anti-fascists.

But I don't want to give more importance to the so-called mayor. I am, after all, a representative in the highest legislative body of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and he is impersonating and playing the mayor, although he is aware that the citizens of Mostar did not directly elect him to that position, and that half of Mostar's residents do not currently recognize him as mayor.

And it is enough to look at the comments below his disgusting status, and see what the citizens of Mostar think about him and the policy he is pursuing," Kajan told us briefly.
