(Patria) - Konjic and Jablanica today received equipment worth 60,000 euros to support recovery after the floods last October.
Donated were 100 water tanks, 50 electric generators and 25 pressure washers, and the equipment was secured through the project "EU Support for Sustainable Water Services Management in BiH", funded by the EU and implemented by UNDP in BiH.
UNDP Resident Representative in BiH Reno Majer highlighted the importance of strengthening local disaster preparedness, according to a statement from UNDP.
"With EU support, we are strengthening the capacities of communities on the front line of climate risks. The equipment delivered to Konjic will help emergency services act quickly and efficiently, contributing to long-term resilience and disaster risk reduction in BiH," said Majer during the handover of the equipment.
Konjic Mayor Osman Ćatić thanked for the support, emphasizing the importance of the equipment for the city's emergency response teams.
EU representatives stated that the EU continues to strengthen the capacities of municipalities across BiH, ensuring key infrastructure and resources for mitigating the consequences of natural disasters.
