Party of Bosnia and Herzegovina Congress on April 12, President, Presidency, and Main Board to be Elected

(Patria) - The Presidency of the Party of Bosnia and Herzegovina held a session where the Decision on
holding the 5th Regular Congress of the Party was made.

The Congress will be held on April 12 in Sarajevo, marking the 30th anniversary of the Party's formation. We remind you that the Party of Bosnia and Herzegovina - SBIH was formed on April 13, 1996, and its founder and first president was dr. Haris Silajdžić, the first Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and later a member of the BiH Presidency.

"The decisions on convening the Party Congress stipulate that the central bodies of the Party will be elected at the Congress, including the election of the Party president, the Presidency, as well as the Main Board for the mandate period 2026 - 2030. In addition to decisions related to the Party Congress, current political topics were also discussed at the session.

Regarding the departure of a number of SBiH officials in the past period, the SBiH Presidency notes that these are cadres who, throughout their entire mandate, showed a tendency to cooperate with the parties of the 'Trojka' (the Three), accepting petty offers such as certain appointments in commissions and public enterprises managed by the 'Trojka', in a way that destroys them and uses them as a platform for party patronage and trading, such as the aforementioned. The Party of Bosnia and Herzegovina rejected much larger offers for participation in power, such as the most important federal ministries, because we did not want to betray the state and the people by accepting to be an unconstitutionally imposed part of the government that would primarily serve the interests of HDZ and SNSD," the statement from the Party of BiH said.

They add that the Party of Bosnia and Herzegovina remains consistent with the principled policy for which it has been recognized so far, "and it is natural for all those who cannot resist political trading and personal interests to go to other parties where these things are paramount".

"Their further political engagement will only confirm our claims, and the state and citizens will never see any benefit from such individuals anyway. Those who do not understand that the difference between the policy of the Party of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the policies of the 'Trojka' parties is fundamental and essential, and therefore it does not matter to them which of these policies they belong to, should not have been members of SBiH in the first place. The Presidency discussed the situation in Sarajevo Canton, as well as another appointment of the Government of the RS entity. It was stated that the fake resignation of the Government of Sarajevo Canton is the best indicator of the similarity between the work of the 'Trojka' and the work of SNSD, whose RS entity government has resigned several times just to continue ruling.

In addition, the issue of implementing the Decision on the constitutionality of peoples throughout BiH was problematized, i.e., who are the Bosniaks of SNSD in the RS Government and whom do they represent? Although Bosniaks have their political capacity in this entity, why is no one questioning the legitimacy of SNSD cadres, especially their coalition partners at the state level, the 'Trojka' and HDZ," the Party of BiH stated.
