
(Patria) - A conference on the implementation of the court decision and the decision of the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina on early elections in the Republika Srpska, and generally on the technical aspect of elections in BiH, will be held on 1 October 2025, starting at 10:00 AM, in the White Hall of the building of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Sarajevo. The conference is organized by Laura Bošnjak from Civil Society.
The conference will be opened by the Head of the OSCE Mission to Bosnia and Herzegovina, His Excellency Ambassador Rick Holtzapple, and Mr. Ed Miles, Head of the Political Department of the Embassy of the United Kingdom in BiH.
Within two panels, among others, will speak Dr. Irena Hadžiabdić, President of the Central Election Commission of BiH, Academician Prof. Dr. Mirko Pejanović, President of the Academy of Sciences and Arts of BiH, Ahmed Rifatbegović, Senior Political Advisor, OSCE Mission to BiH, Mr. Reuf Bajrović, Vice President of the US-Europe Alliance and Non-Resident Fellow at the Foreign Policy Research Institute (FPRI), Washington, DC, Faris Vehabović, Judge of the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg, Prof. Dr. Neven Anđelić, Regent University London.
After the opening remarks and the opening of the conference, panels with various topics will also be held.
The first panel on the topic "Implementation of early elections in the RS and obstacles to the use of new technologies" will be held by Irena Hadžiabdić, and the second "Implementation of electoral technologies" by Ahmed Rifatbegović, after which a discussion is planned with the participation of representatives of the academic community, civil society, media and the legislative branch.
Academician Prof. Dr. Mirko Pejanović will hold a panel on the topic "The need to introduce early elections in BiH", and Reuf Bajrović will speak about the technical aspect of the electoral process.
Judge Faris Vehabović will speak on the topic "Elections in Western European rule of law states", while Professor Anđelić will hold a panel "Experiences of Great Britain and other democratic countries of the world" after which a discussion will be held.
