Konaković threatened a witness in the case against Bošnjak: 'Do you want me to publish your medical record so everyone can see you're crazy'

(Patria) - The president of NiP and Minister of Foreign Affairs of BiH Elmedin Konaković threatened a witness in the case of Bojan Bošnjak and others on Sunday evening, Istraga.ba reports.

Konaković, namely, sent several messages to the former minister of communal economy, infrastructure, spatial planning, construction and environmental protection of the Canton, Almir Bečarević, in which he stated that he would publish his medical record. Incidentally, Almir Bečarević is a witness for the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office in the case against the arrested minister from Naša stranka, Bojan Bošnjak.

Konaković's threats came after Bečarević revealed on the show Istraga sedmice that the presidents of Naša stranka and NiP pressured the arrested Bošnjak to sign documents in order to legalize illegal construction on Bjelašnica.

We remind you, the acting prosecutor in this case, Darko Soldat, stated at the hearing to determine custody for Bojan Bošnjak that the presidents of two political parties based in Sarajevo were tasked with pressuring the arrested minister to sign the disputed documents. Bečarević revealed on the show Istraga sedmice that these were Elmedin Konaković and Edin Forto. A few minutes after the show, Konaković began threatening witness Bečarević.

“Do I have your consent to publish the document showing that you are a mental patient and that you are often on sick leave because of it, or should I do it without consent. It will be easier for you to defend these sick lies you are spewing. I think it is in your interest for us to publish that you are a fool. What do you think,” Konaković wrote in messages sent to Bečarević.

Almir Bečarević confirmed to us that he informed the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office, i.e., the acting prosecutor Darko Soldat, about these threats.

Minister Konaković also expressed dissatisfaction in his messages to Bečarević with the prosecutor's statements during the hearing to determine custody for Bojan Bošnjak.

“I have several prosecutors on my back who find people like you, make a spectacle and then crash, because you all lie together. The prosecutor cannot say that because it is a lie. Only someone like you could have served him such a lie. And you said it publicly,” Konaković wrote.

Let us recall, prosecutor Darko Soldat said on Sunday morning that he had submitted a sealed envelope to the Court containing transcripts of intercepted communications of the Mayor of Trnovo Municipality, Ibro Berilo, who was arrested in August this year for illegal construction on Bjelašnica.

“From the evidence we submitted to the Court in a sealed envelope, which contains intercepted communications of Ibro Berilo, a direct and immediate contact with Bojan Bošnjak is evident, aimed at having him, within his competencies, issue a positive opinion on the environmental impact study for the Bjelašnica area, which would legalize the illegal urban planning project of Trnovo Municipality.

From these communications, it is clear that the decision-making of Bojan Bošnjak was influenced by direct contacts with the director of a public utility company, which is, among other things, responsible for construction on Bjelašnica. Also, contacts with two presidents of political parties in BiH, who were supposed to influence Bojan Bošnjak in a short period of time to give a positive opinion at all costs,” said prosecutor Soldat.

Explaining the reasons for ordering custody, Soldat said that Minister Bojan Bošnjak refused to hand over documents requested by the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office in July this year.

“Regarding the special grounds for custody, we point out that Bošnjak Bojan hid almost all evidence from the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office in July, submitting only five documents, as opposed to the 115 that were found during the search conducted on November 15, 2024,” said prosecutor Soldat.

Apart from this evidence related to the procedure of issuing a positive decision, evidence was hidden in which previous ministers requested the Cantonal Administration for Inspection Affairs to conduct supervision over illegal construction on Bjelašnica outside the regulatory plan, which has not been done to this day.

“Bojan Bošnjak was also influenced by persons from the sphere of public life,” said prosecutor Soldat.
