(Patria) - The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dino Konaković, refused for months to forward the protest note that the Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Staša Košarac, sent to the Republic of Croatia regarding the Trgovska Gora case, Istraga.ba has learned.
Konaković's explanation was that the note was “too harsh” towards the Republic of Croatia, whose Parliament on Monday adopted a decision to store nuclear waste on the border with Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Let us recall, regarding this move, the Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Staša Košarac, sent an open letter to the representatives of the Croatian Parliament, warning of what he described as the illegal and politically motivated nature of the project.
We express serious concern and strong opposition to the manner in which the Republic of Croatia has acted so far regarding the planned construction of the Center for the Disposal of Radioactive Waste at the Čerkezovac location, including especially the latest example of the proposed law. We believe that such moves are completely contrary to the principles of international law, European standards, and the principles of transparency, cooperation, and good neighborly relations - Košarac stated.
