Komšić's attempt to save the Commission for National Monuments declared a blockade by regime media and Bećirović's cabinet

(Patria) - Federal Television, in its central news program "Dnevnik 2", has raised a dilemma in public regarding the vote of the BiH Presidency members, concerning the proposal to return foreigners to the Commission for National Monuments.

While Denis Bećirović and Željko Komšić voted for the return of foreigners to the Commission, Željka Cvijanović voted against it.

This outcome within the BiH Presidency has sparked a discussion about whether the member of the BiH Presidency from the RS entity has the right, through the National Assembly of Republika Srpska, to invoke the protection of vital (entity) interest.

To avoid such a situation, the Chairman of the BiH Presidency, Željko Komšić, decided to address the High Representative in BiH as the supreme interpreter of the Constitution with the following question:

"Does the appointment of international representatives to the Commission for the Preservation of National Monuments represent a sui generis and exclusively established procedure in accordance with Annex 8, within which a violation of vital entity interest, as determined by Article V/2 (d) of the Constitution of Bosnia and Herzegovina, cannot be declared?”

Given that the response from the OHR Office has not yet arrived, regime media and affiliated regime portals have accused the Chairman of the BiH Presidency, accusing Komšić of a deliberate blockade and an alleged scandal.

According to the information we have, the same was done in collusion with Denis Bećirović's cabinet.

Bećirović, in fact, has not expressed any opposition to Komšić's move to seek an opinion from the OHR, but, as we learn, on the other hand, through his associates, has spread disinformation through regime media that Komšić is blocking the return of foreigners to the Commission for National Monuments.

Also, as we learn, the main motive for Komšić's move and for omitting his signature on the Decision and seeking the OHR's opinion lies in the intention to prevent Željka Cvijanović from submitting a request for an assessment of constitutionality before the Constitutional Court of BiH.

Given the current constellation within the Constitutional Court of BiH, it is quite clear that this would result in the overturning of the decision and the danger of BiH being left without the Commission entirely.

Komšić's request to the OHR was sent with the clear intention of preventing such a disastrous scenario.

This, as can be concluded, is also known to Denis Bećirović, but from Bećirović's cabinet, they have apparently assessed that it is more profitable to present Komšić's attempt to save the situation, through regime media, as participation in a blockade, even though it is the complete opposite of the meaning of Komšić's request to the OHR.
