President of DF Željko Komšić told reporters today in Sarajevo before the start of the party's Congress that HDZ BiH leader Dragan Čović is trying to remove DF and the Alliance for Change from the state-level government and bring in Milorad Dodik and his SNSD instead, and whether he will succeed depends solely on the Party of Democratic Action (SDA), which can either support or stop this, writes the news agency Patria.
After the coalition at the level of the Federation of BiH fell apart, from which DF withdrew several months ago, Čović is now trying to push this party out of power at the state level as well, and DF and the Alliance for Change would be replaced by SNSD, which would also mean saving the leader of this party, Milorad Dodik, from responsibility for the multi-million dollar crime of which the opposition has been accusing him for several years.
Komšić confirmed to reporters that DF will at the Congress more clearly profile itself as a left-wing party, and that it will work on uniting this bloc, but, as he further stated, the unification of the left in BiH is a process that does not depend on the will of a few people but must be decided in the parties that want it.
As left-wing parties, Komšić mentioned SDP and Our Party, and possibly the Socialist Party, writes Patria.
