Komšić in Podgorica at reception marking 20 years since Montenegro's independence restoration

(Patria) - Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Željko Komšić attended a reception in Podgorica on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the restoration of Montenegro's independence, at the invitation of the Prime Minister of Montenegro, Milojko Spajić.

 The reception was attended by the President of Montenegro Jakov Milatović, representatives of the Montenegrin state leadership, European Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos, as well as the United Kingdom's Special Envoy for the Western Balkans Karen Pierce.

 During the meeting with officials and guests of the reception, current situation in the Western Balkans, the European perspective of the region's countries, as well as global political and economic challenges were discussed.

Member of the Presidency of BiH Komšić congratulated President Milatović, Prime Minister Spajić, and the citizens of Montenegro on May 21st – Montenegro Independence Day, emphasizing that Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro are connected not only by a border but also by the closeness of people, family ties, a shared living space, and understanding built long before politics and institutions.
