Komšić in New York: The spirit of the UN Charter is not obsolete, we need it more than ever

(Patria) - Chairman of the BiH Presidency Željko Komšić is participating in a high-level meeting in New York on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations and the adoption of the UN Charter.

Chairman Komšić met with the President of the Republic of Austria Alexander Van der Bellen and the President of the Republic of Albania Bajram Begaj on this occasion.

After the delegation meeting, Chairman Komšić stated that, unfortunately, 80 years later, we are still witnessing brutal wars, mass civilian suffering, displacement, open denial of genocide, and increasingly frequent attacks on fundamental human rights, and that all of this shows that the spirit of the UN Charter is not obsolete but that we need it more than ever today.

"It is necessary for all of us to return to the fundamental values of the Charter without calculation: peace, justice, human dignity, and equality of all peoples and individuals," said Komšić.

On September 25, the Chairman of the BiH Presidency Željko Komšić is scheduled to address the UN General Assembly.
