(Patria) - BiH Presidency member Željko Komšić discussed the current political situation today with ambassadors of the group of Western Balkan friend countries
Members of this informal group, consisting of Austria, the Czech Republic, Greece, Croatia, Italy, Slovakia and Slovenia, asked BiH Presidency member Komšić for his view of the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The meeting was attended by Czech Republic Ambassador Jana K. Lolić Šindelková, Slovenian Ambassador Damijan Sedar, Austrian Ambassador Georg Diwald, and representatives of the embassies of Slovakia,
Italy and Greece in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The ambassadors expressed their full support for the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina and condemned attacks on the constitutional order of Bosnia and Herzegovina. They expressed the expectation that the crisis be resolved as soon as possible, so that Bosnia and Herzegovina can focus on reforms on its Euro-Atlantic path.
BiH Presidency member Komšić emphasized that this crisis was caused by a non-final verdict against one man, and that his response was to take the people of the entity of Republika Srpska hostage and pass laws that prevent the work of the judiciary and police agencies of Bosnia and Herzegovina on the territory of the entity of Republika Srpska.
BiH Presidency member Željko Komšić stressed that court verdicts must be respected. If someone does not like the laws on which state institutions are established, then they should be changed in the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, where they were adopted, in accordance with the powers granted by the Constitution of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and not unilaterally ban their work on a part of the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The interlocutors agreed that there should be no negotiations with fugitives from justice. It was emphasized that the Republic of Austria imposed sanctions banning entry into the country for Milorad Dodik, Radovan Višković and Nenad Stevandić, and that they hope other European Union member states will follow their example, in the absence of consensus on EU sanctions, which Hungary opposes.
