Komšić: It is possible we will have a new candidate for the Council of Ministers or accept HDZ's offer

The session of the Presidency of the Democratic Front began at 5 PM, and Željko Komšić, the leader of this party, said they would consider the offer that arrived, reports the Patria agency.

As Komšić explained, the HDZ, i.e., Dragan Čović, is ready to accept that the DF retain Slavko Matanović as the candidate for the minister from the Croat ranks in the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, provided that Milan Mandilović in the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina declares himself as a candidate from the ranks of Others.

However, Komšić said it is possible that the DF will change the candidate for the Council of Ministers, while retaining all Serbian positions in the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Incidentally, Bakir Izetbegović, deputy president of the SDA, and Dragan Čović, leader of the HDZ BiH, spoke today about the problems that occurred during the establishment of the government, specifically the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Čović said that if the formation of the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Council of Ministers does not occur by Tuesday, it can be announced that the coalition does not exist.

- We should not exit the third month without having executive power. There is obviously a problem in communication. Izetbegović will meet with Željko Komšić, and later we will all talk among ourselves to remove the fabricated problems regarding the national structure. It is evident that someone is artificially introducing this into the entire process to continue the blockade of the government until the third month - said Čović.

He further added that everyone can declare themselves as they wish when it comes to national structures and whether they belong to one of the constituent peoples or do not belong, as in this case.

- I would not speculate about that, and each of the parties, before the signing of the names of the members of the Federal Government by the President and Vice Presidents of the Federation, if there is something questionable, should have said what constitutes the structure of that government, rather than coming to the House of Representatives and raising that issue. HDZ BiH presented its ministers to the public on Monday, to the President of the Federation of BiH and the future Chairman of the Council of Ministers - said Čović and added that the HDZ still maintains its position that it will propose five Croats and one Serb for the Government of the Federation of BiH.

Bakir Izetbegović said that he met with Čović and that they talked.

- I hope that I will meet with Komšić today, possibly tomorrow, and that we will start resolving this situation we have with the formation of both the Council of Ministers and the Federal Government. I could not discuss details until this matter is definitively resolved - said Izetbegović.

He added that he spoke with Čović about something that is on the path to a solution if Komšić accepts it.

He said that one of the possibilities for resolving the crisis is for Milan Mandilović to declare himself as Others, and not as a Serb, because that is how he declared himself in the elections.
