Komšić: When we submit the ANP, there will be a prime minister

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Željko Komšić, member of the BiH Presidency and president of DF, was a guest on Centralni dnevnik with Senad Hadžifejzović. Speaking about the political situation and the state of affairs in BiH, he said that all plans aimed at dividing BiH or eliminating it altogether should be opposed. He emphasized that the further disintegration of BiH, which was prepared through amendments to the Election Law, should be stopped.

 “At this moment, the Election Law is a danger, even those plans that are semi-publicly presented, suggesting that BiH should be a confederation, which in my opinion is a plan to divide Bosnia”, said Komšić. 

When asked about the opinion of the European Commission that BiH should receive in June, Komšić said that during the visit of a European official, he was told that “there will be no enlargement, no matter what we do”. 

Komšić also spoke about the relationship between Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić and SNSD President Milorad Dodik. 

“I think Dodik is causing problems for Vučić, I think Dodik is undermining his authority on the domestic scene, and Dodik raises the bar for him, and he follows him. He sets the tempo for him when it comes to the nationalist narrative”, says Komšić. 

Speaking about BiH's NATO path, Komšić said that BiH received the MAP in 2010 in Tallinn. The fulfillment of the MAP is the penultimate step before full membership. He said that the first Annual National Programme was completed but no one sent it to Brussels, nor was any special decision needed. 

“It is a technical matter, no decision is needed”, says Komšić, reminding that the Law on Defence, Article 83, mentions NATO, and that Dodik is now offering a candidate for prime minister who will not respect the law.  

“Let's send the programme to Brussels, and here is the candidate for the Council of Ministers. Very clear. Let Dodik say what bothers him about that programme (ANP)”, says Komšić. 

When asked how he commented on Dodik's call for members of the BiH Armed Forces to wear uniforms on VRS Day on May 12, Komšić said it was a call to rebellion. 

“There is no violation of the law that clearly stipulates what the uniform is. He is calling for rebellion, and then people will lose their jobs. In the end, what is the traditional VRS uniform, a šajkača with a cockade, a fur hat?” 

Komšić said that he would not agree to the division of the country under any circumstances, and that this was his motive for entering into government with SDA and SBB. 

“I want something honest to remain after me. The worst thing is to do nothing and sit on the sidelines. Let me bear the responsibility for the government not being formed. I am to blame for there being no prime minister", said Komšić, adding that he accepts being blamed for the government not being formed.  

"BiH was not sold in '92, so why would we sell it now", said Komšić.
