Komšić and Bećirović spoke with Karen Pierce: Stabilization of the Western Balkans is the foundation for long-term stability of Europe

(Patria) - Chairman of the BiH Presidency Željko Komšić and member of the BiH Presidency Denis Bećirović received the Special Envoy of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland for the Western Balkans, Dame Karen Pierce.

Komšić and Bećirović welcomed Special Envoy Pierce and expressed satisfaction with the good and friendly relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the United Kingdom, as well as the intensive political dialogue and substantive cooperation in numerous areas, especially in the economic sphere and in defense.

Common interest and intention to continue and expand cooperation in the fields of energy and infrastructure, as well as other areas that will contribute to better connectivity of Bosnia and Herzegovina with the region, were highlighted.

The interlocutors emphasized the significant support of the United Kingdom for reform and integration processes in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which represents part of a broader strategic approach aimed at stabilizing the Western Balkans as a foundation for long-term stability of Europe.

Special Envoy Pierce reiterated her support for Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the United Kingdom's commitment to the country's economic development and European perspective, through partnership and engagement within the Berlin Process.

Speaking about the European path of Bosnia and Herzegovina, it was assessed that the current situation should be used to continue the reform process and make progress in fulfilling the conditions for membership in the European Union.

The current situation in the country was discussed, as well as modalities for resolving issues related to state property and the Public Broadcasting System of BiH.

Chairman of the BiH Presidency Komšić and member of the BiH Presidency Bećirović expressed gratitude for the continuous support of the United Kingdom and the personal commitment of Special Envoy Pierce in strengthening overall relations and friendly cooperation.
