Komšić: Army of BiH the only historical successor to BiH's anti-fascist tradition

(Patria) - Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Željko Komšić sent congratulations to all Bosnians and Herzegovinians on the occasion of April 15 – Army of RBiH Day.

I congratulate all Bosnians and Herzegovinians on April 15 – Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina Day. Through its struggle to preserve sovereignty, territorial integrity, and international legal subjectivity, and through its defense against aggression on the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina has shown that it is the only historical successor to the anti-fascist tradition in this region. Where one generation of anti-fascists stopped in the forties, another continued in the nineties.

By defending the homeland within the borders established by the State Anti-Fascist Council for the National Liberation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, composed of members of all Bosnian-Herzegovinian nationalities, also defended what Bosnia and Herzegovina always was and always will be, and it was, is, and will be, the homeland and state of all its citizens.

April fifteenth is just one opportunity to remember all the members of the Army of RBiH who, by defending their country, gave the most they could for it. Their sacrifice obliges us never to give up striving for a secure and prosperous state of equal citizens, a state where there is room for everyone. 

I congratulate all members of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina on the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina Day, and to those who are no longer with us, and their families, eternal glory and thanks.
