(Patria) - Commander of NATO Headquarters Sarajevo, Brigadier General Pamela McGaha met today with members of the BiH Commission for Cooperation with NATO and on that occasion expressed the continued support of NATO Headquarters Sarajevo for the work of the Commission through existing partnership mechanisms, including the Reform Program which provides a political framework for cooperation between BiH and NATO.
During a recent visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina, 31 ambassadors of the North Atlantic Council reiterated NATO's commitment to BiH, its sovereignty, territorial integrity and the right to determine its own security arrangements, while all BiH interlocutors expressed commitment to a mutually beneficial partnership with NATO in which BiH itself chooses reform activities that best suit BiH's ambitions and security needs.
As the primary mechanism for communication and coordination between actors in BiH on matters concerning NATO, the BiH Commission for Cooperation with NATO plays a key role in that partnership.
Brigadier General McGaha also met today with the newly appointed Chief of the Joint Staff of the Armed Forces of BiH, Major General Gojko Knežević. She thanked the leaders of the AF BiH for the successfully organized visit of the North Atlantic Council delegation to the Rajlovac barracks last week, and confirmed the commitment of NATO Headquarters Sarajevo to continue the partnership with the Ministry of Defense of BiH and the AF BiH in the further development of defense capability building projects and current partnership activities between NATO and BiH.
