Human Rights Commission asks Council of Ministers for information on BiH's readiness for refugee crisis

At the 10th session of the Joint Commission for Human Rights of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina (PABiH), the principles of the Draft Law on Asylum, proposed by the Council of Ministers of BiH, were not supported. The Joint Commission supported the Draft Strategy of BiH for the reception and integration of BiH citizens returning to BiH under readmission agreements and the Draft Action Plan for the period 2015–2018, reports the Patria news agency.

Regarding the ongoing refugee crisis in the region, a conclusion was adopted that the Council of Ministers of BiH should, within ten days, submit to the Joint Commission comprehensive information on this issue, with special emphasis on the role, position, and preparedness of BiH for the refugee crisis in the region.

The Draft Code of Conduct for MPs and Delegates in PABiH, proposed by the Joint Commission for Human Rights of PABiH, was supported and forwarded to further parliamentary procedure. The notification on the adoption of the Information of BiH to the UN Committee on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women was noted.

Also, the information from the Institution of the Ombudsman for Human Rights of BiH regarding a detailed review of unrealized recommendations addressed to this institution, with an explanation of why they were not implemented, was noted.
