
Croatian President Kolinda Grabar Kitarović stated that Ante Gotovina and Mladen Markač will be part of the advisory body of the Council for Homeland Security, reports the Patria News Agency.
Kitarović, in an interview for "Večernji list", said that this Council will be important for changing the national security strategy, as well as for the future development of the Croatian Armed Forces.
- I wanted General Gotovina to be included in the work of this important Council for Homeland Security, we have been friends for many years. I am glad that he and General Markač have agreed to participate and that they have recognized the positive value of my intention and the tasks of this Council, said Kitarović.
The Council will include "10 to 15 of the most experienced Croatian generals, intelligence and other experts", she added.
"Večernji list" states that the Council will also include Miroslav Tuđman, son of Franjo Tuđman, the first Croatian president and founder of the HDZ, the party of the Croatian president.
