How long will the BiH Prosecutor's Office investigation into the Basketball Federation last!?

SARAJevo, (Patria) - The BiH Prosecutor's Office will determine who is responsible for the critical state of the BiH Basketball Federation, a piece of news that BiH media have been publishing for months, and the Prosecutor's Office of BiH remains silent, while names of people who led to the disappearance of millions are mentioned in public.

To Patria's question about the stage of the investigation and what is happening with the case in which Harun Mahmutović is allegedly being investigated, the BiH Prosecutor's Office, in its usual manner, responds with "no comment".

Tax administrations, with their inspections, have arrived at devastating figures. The Indirect Taxation Authority (UIO) is owed BAM 650,000 by the BiH Basketball Federation (KS BiH) for VAT, of which BAM 150,000 is interest. The FBiH Tax Administration is owed BAM 465,000, of which BAM 132,000 is interest.

KS BiH is in an unenviable position with a debt of BAM 2.4 million. Since then, the BiH Prosecutor's Office has done nothing to determine the responsibility of those who led the Federation to ruin.

Those to whom huge sums were paid without justification, percentages from sponsorship contracts with public companies, which the investigation was supposed to reveal, have never been prosecuted.

SIPA has seized documentation on several occasions, and it is clear that this is a case of multi-million dollar crime. This has also been determined by controls from the Financial Police and the Tax Administration.

Although we have sent a series of inquiries to the BiH Prosecutor's Office about the activities they are undertaking in this case, we have only received responses that they have no comment and that the "case is in progress".

Meanwhile, there is less and less rule of law.

Based on its data, KS BiH has sued Harun Mahmutović, former Secretary General, and is seeking the return of illegally paid funds. Mahmutović is currently "saving" KK Bosna.

What is known for now is that approximately BAM 185,000 was paid based on non-existent work contracts, and BAM 77,000 was spent via cards without coverage in accounts!

Although the Minister of Civil Affairs of BiH, Adil Osmanović, also appealed to the BiH Prosecutor's Office to conclude the investigation as soon as possible and to determine who damaged the BiH Basketball Federation and by how much, this institution has not done its part.

This first-rate scandal, which has caused irreparable damage to BiH's basketball sport, has no epilogue.
