Collegium of the House of Representatives of FBiH to meet during extraordinary session break

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Drago Grbavac, president of the “Forgotten Veterans” Association, addressed the deputies of the House of Representatives of the FBiH Parliament, asking them to explain what is with the proposed legal solution that was harmonized in both houses of the FBiH Parliament last year.

“What some deputies said is not true. This law did not cost 350,000 KM. We are asking for the veteran’s allowance to be a special category and to amount to 6 KM per month spent in the war, in the period 1992-1995,” Grbavac stated.

He added that most veterans have achieved nothing from the war until today.

“I was in the trenches and fought in the HVO. My colleague from the Army of RBiH fought on the other side, and was even imprisoned for a few months in a Croatian camp. Neither he nor I have anything. Minister Bukvarević promised me that the forgotten veterans would always be invited, one from HVO and one from ARBiH. I would ask all deputies to vote with their hearts and according to their conscience. We should all be resolved, because it is not fair for me to have something and my comrade from the trenches not to,” Grbavac said.

In the end, he stated that the main veteran associations are actually party associations and showed the support that independent associations received from Željko Komšić, Dragan Čović, Ilija Cvitanović, Nermin Nikšić and others.

The discussion on all agenda items has been concluded.

The presiding officer gave a 40-minute break and announced that during the break, a session of the Collegium of this house would be held to decide on an extraordinary session that would address the issues from the session interrupted at the end of June.
