Who did Dragan Lukač invite to a meeting in his office

It is still unknown whether the appointment of the Director of the Federal Police Administration will be on the agenda of the FBiH Government session to be held on Thursday, writes the news agency Patria.

The Independent Board submitted a proposal to the Minister of Internal Affairs of FBiH, Predrag Kurteš, for the re-appointment of Drago Lukač to that position, and Kurteš then forwarded it to the FBiH Government with a positive opinion.

However, as Patria has already written, the current convocation of the Federal Government, led by Nermin Nikšić, is not in favor of Lukač, who is a pensioner, being re-appointed as director.

Therefore, according to Patria's information, a meeting will be held tomorrow in the office of the now former director, as his term expired on December 7th. Invitations for this meeting were received by five members of the Independent Board, four of whom voted for him (two did not attend the session): Sead Selman, president of the Supervisory Board, Dragan Lukač, and his deputy Ensad Korman.

The meeting was, of course, convened by Lukač to decide on the next steps.

Given that the FBiH Government has a deadline of 30 days from the date it receives the proposal from the relevant minister to appoint the FUP director, and has not done so, it is most likely that a decision will be made for the Independent Board to confirm Lukač's appointment, as provided for by law.

Lukač, who is reportedly on vacation, is in Sarajevo. He went on vacation because he knew his term would expire on December 7th, which would also terminate his employment, and by doing so, he ensured he remained covered by the pension and health insurance of the PIO/MIO Fund.
