Kodro wrote to the Football Association Executive Board: I will get over it, but what about you?

(Patria) - Former coach of the Bosnia and Herzegovina national football team, Meho Kodro, addressed the public with a message, speaking for the first time since being dismissed from the Dragons' bench.

Kodro was on the bench of the BiH national team for only two matches. After the loss to Iceland, his report was not adopted by the Executive Board of the Football Association of BiH, which automatically meant he was fired.

Now, the celebrated BiH footballer has addressed the public with a letter revealing everything that happened, which is clearly also directed at the Football Association.

"Surprised and disappointed by your decision to terminate my contract with you, and the manner in which you did it, I feel the need to address you in this way.

You terminated the contract with me, which was supposed to last until the end of March 2024, and you cited the non-adoption of my Report after the matches against Liechtenstein and Iceland by the Emergency Committee as the reason. Very brief and curt. As usual, when there are no other arguments. But the question is, what lies behind all of this and what was the Report really like? What criteria were used when assessing its validity, was my Report compared to the reports of other coaches, or was that decision simply made without considering it?

Dear members of the Executive Board of the Football Association of BiH, I will tell you something you already know, but for reasons known to you, you cannot say it. My Report was good, but it could not be adopted because someone powerful among you, for himself and on your behalf, decided before the meeting that I should no longer be the coach, and some of you (the Emergency Committee) were just there to nod your heads. If you are wondering why the Report could not be adopted, the answer is simple - only because I had my own criteria when selecting players for the two matches in which I led the national team. And that is my only fault. There is no other.

No one needs to try and look for football reasons for my dismissal. You didn't even give me time to make a mistake, let alone that the project I presented, and which was accepted by the players, required time. Were five training sessions, two of which were recovery sessions, enough to properly assess someone? What did you expect? That football is a video game where things change at the touch of a button? With your decision, unseen in the world of football, you tried to humiliate me, but in essence, you showed your own powerlessness.

I will get over this and move on, but what about you? And what about our football? What about the new coach? Will you dismiss him too after one loss, or will you use different criteria for him, known only to you?

I am aware that almost all essential things change more from within than from without, and so does our football. You are within an important sports organization and can often influence the course of events.

Be aware of your role in our football and the responsibility that your position entails. Stop accepting predetermined decisions and take your own stance on matters of great importance," Kodro stated in the letter he sent to the Executive Board of the Football Association of BiH.

Kodro will be succeeded on the Dragons' bench by Savo Milošević, and an official address by the Football Association of BiH is scheduled for tomorrow.
