Kodro: Not winning the title would be a failure, media pressure is normal in football

Nobody picks my team for me, I wouldn't allow myself such humiliation, and my condition during negotiations was independence in work, said Meho Kodro, head of the professional staff of FK Sarajevo at today's press conference, writes the BH News Agency Patria.

Kodro said he was disappointed with his team's performance and that the fans should be disappointed.

- We need to get out of this situation as soon as possible, all of this is pressure. We have to get used to the pressure from the media and fans and play as well as possible under pressure. That is normal in the world of football. If we don't win the title, it would be a failure – said Kodro.

Regarding the upcoming match with NK Travnik, Kodro is optimistic and believes in his team.

- I am an incorrigible optimist, we will win the match on Monday and win the title this year. We will emerge from this situation stronger and better and celebrate in the end – said Kodro.

He also said that he would like more journalists to attend training sessions to see how things are done in training, “so we can talk about it.”

- You are the bridge between us and the public, and you can say that Meho is doing a bad job, but first, see if what we are doing has any logic – said Kodro.

FK Sarajevo captain Ivan Tatomirović said that it is obvious that problems exist, and that journalists should write about them.

- When we get into trouble, we should also get out of it – said the captain, adding that he expects a positive result in the match with Travnik.

At today's press conference, FK Sarajevo President Edis Kusturica, Club Director Dino Selimović, and Sports Director Abdulah Ibraković also addressed the media, touching upon recent events at the club.

Although they tried to convince journalists with a lengthy explanation that the atmosphere at the club was good, it remained unclear what FK Sarajevo's primary goal was.

Kusturica said it wouldn't be the end of the world if Sarajevo didn't win the title, and Selimović said something similar, stating that they haven't lost control. Regarding the suspended players, this trio also couldn't agree on the reason for their suspension.

- We suspended five players whom we believe are problematic – said Selimović.
- It has nothing to do with the match in Zvornik – said Ibraković.

And after journalists stated that four out of the five suspended players played in Zvornik, it was revealed that the Management Board and the Presidency made the decision on suspension that night.
