(Patria) - The SDP Sarajevo Cantonal Committee will hold a session today to officially elect a candidate for the new Minister of Health of Sarajevo Canton.
After Nihad Uk resigned from the position of Prime Minister, Minister Haris Vranić publicly expressed his wish not to be in the new Sarajevo Canton Government. Given that the Sarajevo Canton Government was dismissed on October 25th, the deadline to propose a mandate holder and new ministers has begun.
In a publicly released letter to Adnan Šteta, head of the SDP BiH Cantonal Committee, Vranić proposed the name of Admir Spahić for the new minister. However, besides Spahić, there are two other names in contention. Spahić is employed at the JU Health Center Sarajevo Canton.
These are Enis Hasanović, director of the Institute for the Protection of Women's and Maternity Health of Sarajevo Canton. Hasanović is a specialist in gynecology and obstetrics, and the third candidate is Sanjin Saračević, who is employed at the Institute for the Protection of Health of MUP Sarajevo Canton employees.
The other names in the Sarajevo Canton Government are known; SDP's proposal for the health portfolio is still awaited so that the proposal can be submitted. The Sarajevo Canton Assembly session, where the new Government will be confirmed, is expected to be held in the second half of November.
The new Sarajevo Canton Government will consist of cadres from the 'trojka' (NIP, SDP, Naša stranka) and two ministers proposed by the movement 'Za nove generacije', which has one representative, Damir Marjanović, but also the support of Redžo Lemezan. The new majority also includes representatives who left the Party for BiH, Admela Hodžić and Elza Gaković.
The Party for BiH is moving into opposition.
