Bosnian writer Ibrahim Kajan is a victim of the internet mafia, writes the Patria news agency.
Cybercriminals demanded money from Kajan's friends - via email - by posing as Kajan, who allegedly ran out of cash thousands of kilometers from his home in Mostar.
Kajan's friends received an email this morning, in which the internet robbers, writing in Kajan's name, stated that he was stuck in Antalya after his bag with documents and money was stolen, and that he now needed exactly 1,000 euros.
- Do not fall for these scams, I did not write the message - Kajan also announced on his Facebook profile.
The email Kajan's friends are receiving is quite convincing. It states that he solved the problem after the theft of his documents by the BiH Embassy in Turkey allowing him to fly without a passport, but that he now needs money to return home. The message continues that those who wish to help him can contact them via email to receive instructions on which account to transfer the money to, writes Patria.
