(Patria) - The Bosniak Club in the Council of Peoples of the Republika Srpska did not reach a consensus on initiating the vital national interest mechanism regarding the election of the RS Government, due to which that decision adopted in the National Assembly of the RS can take effect.
The President of the Club of Delegates of the Bosniak people in the Council of Peoples, Alija Tabaković, says that four delegates were in favor of initiating the mechanism for the protection of vital national interest, three were against, and one delegate abstained.
- Against the initiation of the mechanism were Bosniak delegates from Serbian political parties, while delegate Dževad Mahmutović abstained - said Tabaković.
The delegates who sought the initiation of the mechanism for the protection of vital national interest believe that the acting President of the RS could not have given the mandate for the composition of the RS Government because "the RS Constitution only recognizes the category of the President of the RS".
The National Assembly of the RS elected a new RS Government headed by Sava Minić on Sunday, January 18, after previously accepting his resignation.
The decisions on the resignation and the election of the new Government, headed by the same Prime Minister, were made just a few days before the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina ruled on the request for a constitutionality review of the election of the RS Government headed by Sava Minić, to whom Milorad Dodik entrusted the mandate after the final verdict of the Court of BiH banning him from holding public office for the next six years.
The Constitutional Court of BiH is ruling on this today at its plenary session.
