Bosniak Club will veto amendments to the Law on Flag, Coat of Arms and Anthem adopted by the NSRS

(Patria) - The National Assembly of Republika Srpska today adopted the Law on Amendments to the Law on Implementation of Decisions of the Commission for the Protection of National Monuments of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which removes Bosnia and Herzegovina from the phrase "national monuments of Bosnia and Herzegovina."

The Commission for the Protection of National Monuments of Bosnia and Herzegovina is a Dayton category in which Bosnia and Herzegovina is clearly emphasized, so it is clear that this is an attack by the RS authorities and the majority in the NSRS on the state of BiH.

Also, today the National Assembly of RS adopted by a majority vote amendments to the Law on the Flag, Coat of Arms and Anthem, which allow the use of Serbian symbols in addition to entity symbols.

The Bosniak Club in the Council of Peoples of Republika Srpska (RS) will meet in the next seven days and decide on initiating the protection of vital national interest and file a veto with the Council of Peoples, which will likely reject it, and then with the Constitutional Court of RS, which will again result in rejection, as assumed in the Club.

“In the next month, month and a half, the law will certainly not enter into force, given the previous practice. That was the case with Serbian national decisions and laws, when the decisions of the Bosniak Club were mostly rejected by the Constitutional Court of RS. And then it remains for the members of the Presidency of BiH, the leadership of both houses of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH and a certain number of deputies to address the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which can make a final decision. So, at this moment, the Bosniak Club in the Council of Peoples of RS will certainly file a veto,” said Alija Tabaković.
