(Patria) - Celebrated German footballer and coach Jürgen Klinsmann is officially no longer the head coach of South Korea.
The country's Football Association (KFA) decided to end their cooperation with the German expert after their elimination in the semi-finals of the Asian Cup.
"The KFA has decided to change the national team coach after careful consideration.
Klinsmann's attitude and competitiveness as a coach did not meet expectations, so we decided to change course before the 2026 World Cup qualifiers," the KFA announced.
The German said goodbye on social media after his dismissal, thanked the players, and said his tenure in South Korea was an incredible journey.
To all players, my coaching staff and all Korean football fans with sincere gratitude!
Thank you so much for all your support taking us to the semi-final of the Asian Cup and an incredible journey over the last 12 months with not losing 13 games in a row!
Keep on fighting 💪 pic.twitter.com/ff1EAgEoN5— J_Klinsmann (@J_Klinsmann) February 16, 2024
