KK Champion Sends Three Competitors to World Championship in Jakarta, But Coaches Cannot Go Due to Lack of Funds

Karate Club "Champion" will have 3 representatives at the upcoming World Championship for cadets, juniors, and U21 in Jakarta (Indonesia). Based on past results, the club has reasons to be optimistic about their competitors' performance, reports the BH News Agency Patria.

Ena Gljiva, Anes Čongo, and Eldin Hajdarpašić are the competitors who will represent their club and country, and they believe they can achieve a positive result.

Anes Čongo, a gold medalist at the European Junior Championship in Lisbon, a bronze medalist at the European Cadet Championship in Baku, and a bronze medalist at the European Junior U21 Championship in Zurich, points out that his advantage is experience in major competitions, and he eagerly awaits his first world championship appearance in his career.

- Like all competitors who will participate in this prestigious competition, I am also very excited and eagerly awaiting my performance. Unlike other national team members of our country, I already have experience in this, which should certainly make it a little easier for me this time, although I am a fighter and as a European champion, I must be prepared for anything, in order to justify what is expected of me, and also to try to raise it to a higher level - Čongo emphasized.

Ena Gljiva is the winner of two bronze medals at the European Championships for cadets and juniors U21 in Konya and Zurich, and believes that with a little luck, she will bring a medal from the World Championship for Bosnia and Herzegovina.

- I am very fulfilled and happy, because this is the first World Championship in my career. All the work, effort, and sacrifices so far have paid off. The expectations are high, as always when going to a major championship. We are going with the goal of bringing a medal from the world championship to our country - Ena told us.

Eldin Hajdarpašić, a cadet national team member of Bosnia and Herzegovina and a gold medalist (team) at the Balkan Championship in Sofia, said that he expects a favorable result at the World Championship in Jakarta.

The entire team of Karate Club "Champion" is working hard to ensure the competitors are at their best for this championship, however, they emphasize that they have not yet finalized the financial structure, which is the biggest obstacle in the preparation process for the World Championship in Jakarta.

- We owe the second installment for all three competitors by October 20, 2015, in the total amount of 3,300.00 KM. We hope to manage to secure the missing funds, because we have already paid 6,300 so far, and unfortunately, due to the financial situation we are in, so as not to send the competitors unprepared, this time we will not be able to finance the coaches' travel as well. The competitor who won 3 European medals and the competitor who won 2 European medals certainly deserve the respect of all of us, but unfortunately, we are fighting for such competitors to send them to world and European championships - stated Mensur Agović.

Agović said that at this moment he is thinking least about the result, but he believes that everyone will celebrate their medals in Jakarta.
