(Patria) - Catholics across Bosnia and Herzegovina, the region, and the world are celebrating Easter today, a holiday symbolizing the victory of life over death.
On Easter, holy Easter Mass is being held in churches across Bosnia and Herzegovina, traditionally attended by a large number of believers.
Easter is the greatest and oldest Christian holiday, as the essence of Christian teaching signifies Christ's resurrection from the dead, as the victory of faith and life over death.
This day represents the backbone and foundation of the Christian faith, namely the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
According to belief, Jesus Christ was condemned on Thursday, crucified on Friday, and resurrected on Sunday. The period immediately preceding the Easter celebration is Lent. During Lent, Catholics prepare for the celebration of Easter through personal and communal prayer for their spiritual edification, fasting, and other forms of abstinence.
Easter is always celebrated on a Sunday; it falls on a different date almost every year due to a specific rule.
.From 11 AM, you can follow the broadcast of the Easter Mass from the Cathedral of Mary, Mother of the Church in Mostar on BHT1 program.
