Disastrous Pistons lose 27th consecutive game

(Patria) - The Detroit Pistons have officially become the worst team in NBA history after losing 112:118 at home to the Brooklyn Nets on Tuesday night.

It was their 27th consecutive loss, breaking the negative record set by the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2010/11 season, who lost 26 games in a row at the time.

The Philadelphia 76ers lost 28 consecutive games in 2015, but across two different seasons - 10 in one and 18 in the next - with a somewhat changed roster.

The Pistons can equal that unwanted record tonight on the road in Boston, and break it or save face on Saturday at home against Toronto.

After losing the first game in Miami, they beat Charlotte, and then Chicago on October 28, nearly two months ago. Since then, 27 losses have followed.

Last night, they came very close to ending the terrible streak, trailing by only two points in the final minute.

However, they failed to make up the deficit, despite a fantastic performance from Cade Cunningham, who scored 37 of his 41 points in the second half, and also grabbed nine rebounds and dished out five assists, reports SCsport.ba.

Mostar native Bojan Bogdanović scored 23 points, but was ejected in the final minute due to his sixth foul, leaving the team without their most dangerous shooter while chasing the score.

The Nets were led to victory by Cam Johnson with 24 points, while Mikal Bridges added 21.

With this win, the Nets evened their record at 15-15, while the Pistons now stand at a disastrous 2-28.
