Kasumović: I revived Zenica in a social and cultural sense

ZENICA, (Patria) - Zenica Mayor Fuad Kasumović received Lars-Gunnar Wigemark, the European Union's Special Representative and Head of the European Union Delegation to Bosnia and Herzegovina, in his office today.

Kasumović and Wigemark discussed the launch of a pilot project for electronic voting in the upcoming local elections, improving the economic environment in Zenica, and the cooperation between the City of Zenica and the Zenica-Doboj Canton.

Mayor Kasumović informed Ambassador Wigemark about the most significant activities of the Zenica City Administration.

"What is most important to me as Mayor is that the citizens of Zenica are extremely satisfied with my work. Since I took office, I have resolved all capital projects. I am primarily referring to the multi-decade problem of heating residential and commercial buildings, water supply, and over-indebtedness. I have stabilized the budget, abolished funding for political parties, and revived the city in a social and cultural sense," said Fuad Kasumović, Mayor of Zenica.

He added that the Zenica City Administration has undertaken a series of measures to improve the business environment.

"I am happy that, with my associates, I have achieved that Zenica is the most favorable for investment. Just a few days ago, we sold 17 undeveloped construction plots in the Business Zone. By implementing the LIFE project, we have reduced administrative fees for the services we provide to our citizens, as well as to investors. Since taking office as Mayor, about 2900 jobs have been created in Zenica," said Mayor Kasumović.

Ambassador Wigemark praised Mayor Kasumović's initiative to introduce electronic voting, where Zenica would be the first city in BiH to prevent any form of irregularities in the electoral process. The Ambassador particularly praised the efforts of the Zenica City Administration in improving the living conditions of citizens and creating more favorable conditions for doing business, it was announced.
