(Patria) - Protests have been organized in several cities across BiH, following the brutal murder in Gradačac where Nizama Hećimović was killed.
In the capital city of BiH, Sarajevo, Mayor Benjamina Karić led a protest march and read out the demands. Denis Bećirović, member of the Presidency of BiH, and Ramo Isak, Minister of Internal Affairs of FBiH, also appeared at the protests.
Numerous reactions followed, given that Karić and Bećirović belong to the ruling SDP, and citizens on social networks are asking who the demands are addressed to and since when has the government been organizing protests, or rather, against whom are they demonstrating.
Thus, the Vice-President of the Federation, Igor Stojanović, who also comes from the SDP, announced himself, stating that he is not against citizens' protest marches.
"But I will not march until I try everything to fix the system that constantly shows failures. Marches will not stop new victims. Concrete political action will. It is absurd to me that politicians whose party holds power organize marches. Unless someone obstructs your intentions.
That is why this morning I organized a meeting with the expert on human rights and gender equality Adnan Kadribašić, the Minister of Justice of FBiH Vedran Škobić, his assistant Damir Šapina, and Lejla Hodović from the Gender Centre of FBiH. I will inform you about concrete activities soon after the experts provide concrete proposals," Stojanović wrote.
