(Patria) - The Cantonal Court in Bihać has confirmed the indictment against Egyptian national Darwish Hatim (24), whom the Una-Sana Canton Prosecutor's Office charges with attempted murder in the temporary reception center "Lipa" where, according to the indictment, during a conflict, he inflicted severe and life-threatening injuries on another person with a knife.
According to the indictment, the incident occurred on October 16 last year in the Bihać "Lipa" camp, when during a physical altercation between the accused and the victim M.A.A.A., a knife was used, causing the victim to sustain severe bodily injuries that were life-threatening.
The Cantonal Court in Bihać also accepted the Prosecutor's Office's proposal to extend detention, assessing that there are circumstances indicating a risk of flight.
The accused's detention has been extended for two months, starting from March 17 this year, and it can last for a maximum of two years from the date the indictment was confirmed.
An appeal against the decision to extend detention can be filed with the Supreme Court of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, but it does not postpone the execution of this measure.
