Cantonal Court in Bihać: Egyptian (21) one month in custody for robbery

(Patria) - The Cantonal Court in Bihać, at the proposal of the Una-Sana Canton Prosecutor's Office (USK), ordered one month of custody for a member of the migrant population of Egyptian origin, initials K.A.S.A. (21).

Custody was ordered due to the existence of a well-founded suspicion that he committed the criminal offense of Robbery under Article 289, Paragraph 2, in conjunction with Article 31 of the Criminal Code of the Federation of BiH.

The young Egyptian was ordered into custody due to the risk of flight, in accordance with Article 146, Paragraph 1, Point a) of the Law on Criminal Procedure of the Federation of BiH.

The USK Prosecutor's Office, by order to conduct an investigation, accused the suspect that on May 8, 2026, in the early morning hours in Bihać, in the area of the settlement Izačić near the state border with the Republic of Croatia, together with at least 13 unknown persons, jointly and by prior agreement, armed with a pistol, knives, and a wooden bat, with the aim of obtaining unlawful property gain, they intercepted a group of migrants returning from an attempted border crossing between BiH and Croatia.

During this, they demanded money, mobile phones, and other personal belongings from the migrants at gunpoint.

The suspect inflicted a minor bodily injury on one migrant in the head area with the handle of a knife, demanding that he hand over 800 euros for the group's passage.

At the same time, an unknown person from the group to which the suspect belonged inflicted a severe bodily injury on migrant A.H. with a pistol, in the form of a gunshot wound to the right foot.

After realizing that the migrants did not have money on them, the suspect and other unknown persons fled in an unknown direction.

The suspect was arrested on May 8, 2026, from which date the imposed measure of custody is calculated.
